The Future is in the Clouds for HR
As a long-term SAP/SuccessFactors partner, NGA was happy to join SuccessConnect in Amsterdam. Mike Ettling, Head of Cloud & On-Premise HR at SAP, kicked off with a view of what's happening in business today; what HR must do to keep pace with a highly mobile, increasingly global, multi-generational workforce; and what role HR, supported with the right technology, can play in delivering the business outcomes on which you measure your success as a company. Moreover, Mike articulated a view that we strongly support at NGA as he highlighted the importance of putting Service back into SaaS.

SuccessConnect provided attendees - SAP/SFSF customers, prospects and partners - valuable insights into the workforce of today and tomorrow. The conference confirmed that the technology shift towards Cloud is real and happening as we speak - and that early adopters have a first mover advantage. Globally, organizations are preparing to move HCM into the Cloud and many are looking for real-life cases, hands-on experience, process best practices and the best possible partner to help make their transition to the Cloud a success.
At the NGA booth we informed visitors how important it is to standardize processes first; if you want to succeed in the Cloud it’s the key starting point. Here are 5 other additional lessons learned:
Change Management is truly important, ready your organization and don’t cut corners, produce a strategic roadmap – it needs to be and integrated part of the project
Business rule simplification and data migration, sort out if you want bring your history with you?
You need to test, test… every process step needs to be tested, system and integration testing, user acceptance and payroll parallel runs
Think about integration and application management support… Your ‘Go-Live’ isn’t the end, it’s the start of your journey.
Where you start your Cloud journey does not matter, SAP SuccessFactors HCM solutions are modular and can be deployed at your pace; recruiting, learning, performance, social collaboration, HR analytics or putting your core HR in the Cloud does not matter. If Payroll presents a challenge in your transition plans, consider BPO as an option.
