Engagement, From A to Z
Over two years ago, AstraZeneca embarked upon a transformational journey. The journey involved the alignment of all of AstraZeneca's HR services and systems globally. The name of the HR transformation journey is 'AZengage', and the numbers were - and still are - truly impressive. 61,000 employees, dozens and dozens of HR systems to be unified, more than 100 countries involved, and a wide range of languages supported.
In December 2009, we announced the start of our journey and of what has become known as HRO 3.0 (the 3rd generation of HR Outsourcing) - more standardization, more usability, more automation than ever before in HRO.
Just as the HROA (HR Outsourcing Association) did last week at its HROA Gala and Awards ceremony in Atlanta, GA, I wanted to take a step back and applaud the great leadership that was required to develop and execute a vision which is employee-centric, yet business-focused.
When we started working with AstraZeneca in 2009, the company wanted to streamline and consolidate HR services and solutions. As EVP HR & Corporate Affairs for AstraZeneca, Lynn Tetrault made a strategic decision to unify all systems, software and solutions onto NGA’s euHReka platform, in a 7 year HR outsourcing contract. Lynn demonstrated courage and wisdom for her ability to visualize and articulate her strategy, find the right partners, and enthuse the teams globally.
2 years into the journey, we see countries go live on a monthly basis, with comprehensive HRO services - including payroll, workforce management, and reporting, on a single technology backbone with an end to end talent management solution to follow.
Lynn’s strategic vision enabled AstraZeneca employees, managers and HR professionals to benefit from easy-to-use self-service applications, accessible for everyone over the Internet. Our joint journey illustrates the importance of global delivery capabilities and the unique benefits of the euHReka platform with standardized out-of-the box HRO 3.0 processes and services.
Lynn's vision was also recognized by the global HR Outsourcing community - both buyers and vendors - which honored her as the Buyer Executive of the Year at the HROA Gala and Awards Ceremony in Atlanta, GA, on September 21. The Gala is the HROA's annual celebration where the association presents its Trustee and North America Awards. At the same event, NGA's Cay Gliebe was honored as North American Thought Leader of the Year.
Congratulations Lynn, your recognition by the HRO community is well deserved, and your leadership is an inspiration to all of us.
