Dr Steve Foster is Manager, Business Consultancy at NGA, based in the UK. For the first part of his career, he worked in a range of Human Resources management roles, including compensation, reward, recruitment and line HR management. After project managing a major HR systems implementation and working on a global HR transformation project, he worked as a consultant for The Hunter Group and as Director of e-HR at KPMG. Steve joined NGA in 2003 and from 2006-2008 he ran NGA’s outsourcing division. As a consultant, he has worked with major clients helping them transform their HR operations. His areas of specialty are HR business process improvement, e-HRM planning and implementation, business case development, outsourcing and change management.
Steve has published several articles on technology strategy and human capital management. He holds an MBA from Henley Management College, is a Fellow of the CIPD and holds a Professional Doctorate from Hertfordshire Business School on how organizations create value through the use of e-HRM. He has written two books - ‘The Big Book of HR’ and ‘HR Ready: Creating Competitive Advantage Through Human Resource Management’, which explores the 7 pillars of HR for creating competitive advantage and building HR resilience.
